Millwork and Door Estimator

Deco Truss Company, Inc. is the only full lumber yard and truss company serving professional homebuilders and contractors in the South Florida and The Florida Keys Market and we export. Our Associates take pride in knowing that they work for the number one company in our marketplace. In line with our growth, we are now recruiting an individual to join our team for an Millwork and Door Estimator.

Duties include: Develop complete millwork and door materials lists, hardware lists and bid qualifications in a timely manner, using blue prints or other documents provided by customers and sales reps. Provide professional service to customers including proper phone etiquette, resolving problems in a timely manner, and maintaining communication with supervisor and all parties involved. Maintaining an open relationship with the outside sales staff and inside account reps to enhance communication and increase efficiency. Accurately enter data, complete quotes, and manage special orders. Resolve problems and work together with inside account reps to foresee discrepancies.

The ideal candidate would possess a High School Diploma and have 5+ years in a customer service or estimating position required. Knowledge of millwork products and doors is required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to work with a variety of customers and departments. Excellent computer and phone skills required. Must be able to work together in a team environment. Must possess a strong knowledge of construction principals.

Steel Detailer / Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking a Steel Detailer / Drafter. To work full time from our Miami Facility. Steel Detailer/ Drafter will be responsible for providing take-offs and layouts of Rebar Placement Plans. 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
  2. Consult engineers, architects and construction personnel to clarity requirements and to rectify field problems
  3. Compute size and quantity of reinforcing bars
  4. Create placing drawings and bar lists
  5. Track lump-sum contract progress and compare with estimate

Skills/Requirements

  1. Knowledge of reinforced concrete construction methods
  2. Knowledge of reinforcing steel placing standards
  3. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
  4. Manual & Computer drawing skills
  5. Math skills are essential
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with construction personnel, architects and engineers
  7. Ability to use PC spreadsheet applications

Truss Designer

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Truss Designers, able to generate truss placement plans and engineering using industry software. Mitek experienced a plus.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Consult engineers, architects and construction personnel to clarity requirements and to rectify field problems
  • Produce lay-outs and engineering to match Architecture and Structural Plans
  • Have industry experience and knowledge
  • Self Motivated, able to manage his/her time and keep schedules
